FROZEN IN TIME
An art exhibition “Frozen in Time,” featuring artists Helena Hennigan and Joan Lamb, opened at the Ann Rudd Art Center on the Square in downtown Ozark on Saturday, January 12, 2013 with a reception that refreshments and the opportunity to meet the artists.
Artist Helena Hennigan studied Illustration and Graphic Design at Indiana Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and later earned a Masters of Teaching. She participated in art shows and was a freelance illustrator before moving to Alabama. She is currently at Ft. Rucker with her husband who is attending flight school. Helena’s art is inspired by nature and tells a story. Her illustrations are built in layers using colored pencils, water colors and other materials. She recently took Second Place in Pencil Drawing in a Nationwide Army art competition.
Joan Lamb was born and raised in Dothan and is a graduate of Troy University. She taught art in the Dothan City School System for 33 years and recently retired after 23 years of teaching art at the Dothan High School. She shared her love of art with her students through trips to Europe, Costa Rica and throughout the U.S. Joan is a photo-realist artist who was drawn to this style through her teaching techniques. Joan took first place in the Local Color Exhibit at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan.
