Helen Taylor Andrews
Helen Taylor Andrews, a native of south Alabama, is a retired house plan designer. She has painted and drawn since an early age. Her work showcases the best of the rural south. Her paintings of old houses, barns, landscapes, and things ‘country’ are described as heartfelt, warm and welcoming.
Her art and writings have been featured in Wiregrass Living Magazine, Alabama Living Magazine, A Wiregrass Welcome Magazine, Laughs and Lifts Magazine, PaintWorks Magazine, and others.
An award winning artist, she has exhibited in art shows and festivals since 1984. In 2003 she was honored by the State of Alabama with a Senate Resolution for her contributions to the arts in Dale County. Her art is in corporate and private collections in the U. S. and abroad.
She is the author of six published novels: Coming Home, The Gifts of Joy, Jack’s Garden, Over Yonder, and Dusty Roads, & Aunt Becky’s Pea Patch, co-author of two short story books: A Southern Duet, The Chinaberry Girls, and co-author of a cookbook, Claybank Cooking Old and New.
Helen enjoys riding the dirt roads of the south looking for subjects to paint and inspiration for her books.
