Studio Within
Deshonna Pruitt opened her first solo show, "Studio Within" at the Rudd Art Center Saturday, November 6, 2010.
Deshonna earned a BS Degree in Graphic Design from Troy University in 2002. Her art forms in this show include photography and painting. She grew up on a farm in Skipperville, Alabama where her observations of family life molded her into the artist she is today. "Studio Within is about looking within and deciding what's beautiful to me. It's about realizing that art, beauty and simplicity are all around me. I only had to look in my own back yard and use what was available to me. Much of my time is spent doing research and observing the world around me. When I'm ready to begin...I let creativity and imagination take over."
